Ratíškovice – young winery and cellars

An important and ancient village on the edge of the extensive forest complex Doubrava, where besides winery flourished in the past and mining. Old wine makers believed that the vine thrives hilly terrain, but it was a virtue of necessity, rather, more accessible and fertile fields were reserved because growing grain and vegetables (hence the saying: "Vineyards - Bídnice"). Today, the planting of vineyards on the plains habitat quite common. The ancestors of many winemakers find it in a document from 1775, last Nesvadba, Kadlčík, Vacenovský, Příkaský, Foltyn or kicked between local landlords appear today. Ratíškovický carpenter Jan Vlasak was two centuries ago declared by the manufacturer of wine presses. In the cadastres of the eighteenth and nineteenth century we find no vineyards, local citizens owned land, primarily in Dubňany and Mutěnice. Until the late nineteenth century a number of vineyards were planted in Hrubý field, but did not survive the subsequent wave of phylloxera. Ratiskovice lies on the plane, viticulture is concentrated on the slope by the roadside on Milotice in Nácestky lines, Gross field and Parts. The local wine area is one of the youngest in Moravia. Slavin is the site of the former Theodore mine, closed in 1954.
